"Our ten pound dog was welcomed by attentive staff making check in easy. The motel is well worn and dated with smoking left overs outside. The heating was old but worked well and controlled well. The beds were very comfortable and the place quiet and dark."

"Such a sweet little place to stay. We were there for the Polar Express. Our granddaughters LOVED that the train ran right by our place. They would run outside and wave to each car. Also it is 5 minutes from everywhere! "

"Pleasantly surprised at how lovely this places was. It has a historic home feel with many beautiful details but also felt like a second home. Our room was very clean with a very attentive front desk and housekeeper. Highly recommend staying here & I hope to return in the warmer months to enjoy the pool and take advantage of the horse riding stables right next door. . Only one small improvement needed-but requires money. The game room needs a face lift cause it could be SO amazing. Other than that-just wonderful!!! "

"It is a super location on the river with privacy. There is road noise but didn’t really bother us. It’s tough to fish the river because its flow is controlled by Duke for whitewater activities but there is fishing opportunities very close by. Very relaxing with fire pit and pretty much everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our dog loved it! "

"The deck by the river was great, early mornings drinking coffee while watching 2 eagles sitting in a dead tree across the river take flight down the river looking for food. Kitchen was adequate, refrigerator small, but did the job for drinks and breakfast items.Comfortable stay for our trip to Bryson City to ride the trains, go to Clingman's Dome, and see the elk for a quick vacation."
